Equivital Wireless Physiological Monitoring System

The Equivital EQ01 System is a complete human physiological monitoring platform suitable for both indoor and field based monitoring/ research.  Data can be viewed in real time AND recorded to the device memory. Monitor subjects in the lab or remotely with GPS location using GPRS transmission (available on certain cell phones and wireless carriers), SMS text messaging , proprietary radio, a Tetra radio terminal or Tactical Military Radio.

The  EQ01-1000 lightweight and waterproof unit records:
  • Heart Rate
  • 2 Lead ECG
  • Respiratory Rate and Effort
  • Skin Temperature
  • Movement and Body Orientation
and include event marking capability, power ON and battery level indication, fall alarm and exercise intensity.
The system will also record core body temperature using  Jonah ingestible pills and up to 8 disposable dermal temperature patches
Model  EQ01-1250 includes a sensor cable for recording GSR or pulse oxymetry
Equivital EQ01

The Equivital Systems is the only medically approved (EU and FDA), multiparameter, ambulatory monitoring system capable of measuring core body temperature.

Software

Introductory package includes software with basic viewing tools. A System developer kit and optional turnkey softwares are available.

LiveLink Pro 2.0 & 3.0

The LiveLink local area configuration can offer real time data views from multiple subjects with live waveform viewing (version 3.0) and summary data.

Live Alerts

Software offers the ability to set limits for alerts or alrams for each recorded parameter. An individual alert will be displayed on the live screen

Welfare Index

The system features a "physiological welfare index" which uses predefined parameter limits to create a contextual welfare alarm based on the wearer's physiology and movement

Local Area System configuration

For local area application, up to five sensors will communicate with a PC computer using Bluetooth Class 1 link.

To record from up to 20 sensor, a proprietary communication hub is available.

For 21 sensors or more, multiple hubs can be cascaded

LiveLink Pro  2.0 software offers:

  • Transmit data continuously or at set intervals
  • Real Time multiple subject vital signs viewing
  • Synchronization of session data from multiple subjects
  • Interface directly with sensor or Equivital Hub
  • Replay options for retrospective viewing
  • Live alarms including fall alarm
  • Data export and import function for integration with other data systems

Wide Area System Configuration

For subject monitoring over a larger area, the Equivital Explorer software allows communication between the sensor and a remote computer using a cellular phone with Windows Mobile software and GPS enabled function using GPRS network or text messaging. Alternatively an Equivital Gateway Radio is used to transmit summary physiology data and geo-location via ISM band radio to a RF modem.

Live Viewing

Equivtal Explorer screen view

Web based live viewing platform with integrated geo-location capability.

The web based Equivital Explorer platform can be used to provide live physiological data integrated with geo-location. This is enable by each Equivaital monitor being associated with a GSP data feed usually acquired from the communication relay device.
The system allows summary data to be viewed at time intervals which are set by the user. Alert and alarms can be set for each recorded parameter and displayed on the live screen.
Welfare Index: the system  features a welfare index whihc uses predefined parameter limites to create a contextual welfare alarm based on the wearer's physiology and movement.
Trend: software allow trend data for each monitor to be displayed in real time and compared between individual subjects.

Multiple Radio Interfaces

Cellular phone relay
GSM/GPRS phones with GPS function enabled and running Windows Mobile software will send summary physiology data and geo-location using text messaging or GPRS. Some phones offering these features include Rogers Samsung Messenger, Rogers Hp iPaq Hw 6955, Telus HTC Touch Pro, Bell and Telus Palm Treo Pro and Wind Mobile HTC Maple.
A GSM modem with a  subscription from a wireless operator allows data to be received on a server or individual computer. MOdem are available from cellular service provides or from manufacturers such as Itegno, Multitech, Headwind and Novatel Wireless.

Equivital Gateway Radio

For field radio communication, the Gateway operates on ISM (industrial, scientific and medical) licensed-free band radio  (2.5 GHz or 900 MHz) at a range of up to 5 Km. An optional 10m field mast and antenna is available to ensure maximum area coverage.
Tetra and Tactical Military Radio (with customisation for near field communications for a large number of units) communication are also possible.
